Monthly Saturday Programs

Throughout the academic year, Tyson Library hosts several Saturday programs and activities. These monthly events are often scheduled (and themed) around upcoming holidays or the season, but not always! Activities like our 5th Saturday Cinema, Easter Program, and Breakfast with Santa are some examples.

We encourage our patrons to check back here on our website for more details about our Monthly Saturday Programs that are announced as the year goes on. Many of these events require pre-registration due to limited space.

Registration is required for our school-aged programs.

Fall 2023 registration forms are now available! Above is a downloadable form. Paper forms will be available at the check out desk at the end of July. Email Ms. Aly (aly@tysonlibrary.org) with any questions.

Spring 2024

Registration is OPEN now for our Spring 2024 youth programs. We have paper copies of the registration form at our check out desk. You can also download the PDF above and email it to aly@tysonlibrary.org to save your child’s seat.

Tyson Travelers

The Tyson Travelers meet monthly to explore different countries, cultures, and time periods through crafts, foods, and games. Last year the travelers stamped their passports in Greece, France, and even in the United States Civil War Era. Sign up for this fun program to see where they’ll visit this year!

Miss Aly will lead a book club for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. The group will meet twice a month to not only talk about the books they are reading, but also enjoy crafts, activities, and snacks based on the books and their characters!

Fall 2023 Storytime will be September 5-November 28. There will be no program on November 14. Please join us for this program for children from birth to age 5. Caregivers are required to stay with their children for the entire program. Watch our Facebook for other updates about this weekly program!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The American Academy of Pediatrics promotes reading aloud to children daily, beginning in infancy. Learn how to participate in this free program and download your tracking sheet today by clicking here! (We also have information packets and tracking sheets available at the check-out desk.)

Excellence in Reading Program

Mensa for Kids strives to promote a love of reading in kids and teens. To do this they offer an Excellence in Reading Program that will reward students with a t-shirt and certificate for reading through one of their grade appropriate lists. Tyson Library wants to promote this opportunity made available to children and encourage them to participate. If you have any questions about this program you can learn more on the Mensa for Kids website https://www.mensaforkids.org/achieve/excellence-in-reading/

or contact our Youth Services Librarian Aly at aly@tysonlibrary.org.

We also post information about these (and all other) events on our Facebook Page, so be sure to follow us there, too!
