Take borrowing to the next level with this collection of items you might not expect to find at a library!

Our Library of Things is a collection of non-traditional items for check out. A full catalog of these items is available at the check out desk. If you are interested in checking these items out, simply ask us for the item and we will retrieve it from our collection storage for you.

A patron must be a Tyson Library patron for at least 3 months to borrow items from the Library of Things. Their account must also be in good standing (no fines or fees) before they may borrow from this special collection.

Craft Kits

#1 Round Knitting Loom Kit

Inside you’ll find all the tools you need to make a wide variety of projects. All you have to supply is the yarn! This kit is available for all ages, but adult supervision is recommended for young children (the kit includes a few small pieces).

  • one 36-peg round loom (pink)
  • one 24-peg round loom (blue)

This gadget is suitable for schools, organizations, community activities, and corporate gatherings!

Graphing Calculator

Texas Instruments has created the TI-83 Plus–a powerful, problem-solving tool with features for storing, graphing, and analyzing up to 10 functions. Plus, it displays graphs and evaluates tables on a split screen, allowing you to trace the graph and scroll through table values simultaneously.

This gadget checks out for 3 weeks at a time.

Interactive Book Kits

Our Interactive Book Kits include activities, crafts, recipes, and more to help the reader dive deeper into each book as they reach different points in the story. These kits are centered around books for readers in late elementary through high school. Each kit can be checked out for 3 weeks.

Our Storytime Kits help caregivers bring the library storytime experience home. Each themed kit includes a story or two, crafts, games, and activities great for children in preschool and kindergarten.
